Allison Paladino at the Inside Out Showroom with Florida Design

I recently kicked off summer in the best possible way – alongside colleagues who have become my great friends. On June 9, Florida Design and the Inside Out showroom hosted me for a presentation to discuss the “Ins & Outs of Developing a Product Line.” I love developing luxury interior design products, so it was pure fun to share my tips, tricks, and slight mishaps along the way – it is all part of the journey!

Founder of Inside Out, Joy Eber, and Florida Design magazine have both been a part of my own journey. I’ve known Joy for nearly 25 years. She has always been very supportive of my interior design career, and we have a special connection that I value. When I released my first furniture and lighting collection with Century Furniture in Chicago, she congratulated me and sent me flowers to the show. She is a star, and she surrounds herself with a team that matches her enthusiasm and can-do attitude.

Florida Design magazine has celebrated key moments and milestones with us. When Zita Rudd was promoted to partner, who better to sponsor the event? That was where we had the pleasure of meeting Florida Design’s editor-in-chief, Luis Rigual, who introduced me to the Inside Out design community. Just like creating a collection, it all comes full circle!

Thank you to everyone who joined us, to Inside Out showroom, to Florida Design magazine, and of course – to my wonderful product collaborators in interior design: Perennials, Fine Art, EJ Victor, and Century! The great news just keeps coming! My newest Allison Paladino Collection for E.J. Victor gallery has opened in Coral Gables, Florida at Décor House Furniture during the gala opening of Décor House’s new design center and showroom last month.

The South Florida interior design social schedule is always a whirlwind of excitement during December, but this was a party to remember! Co-sponsored by Décor House Furniture and Ferguson Bath, Kitchen and Lighting Gallery, it rained like cats and dogs the night of the opening, but the weather did nothing to dampen the spirits of the more than 500 special guests who enjoyed the sneak peek at the new space, great music, and champagne. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to catch up with many of my good friends in the design community and get personal feedback on my furniture designs.

Owner Pepe Rodriguez is rightfully proud of the new space and was just as excited about the turnout for the event. Plus, he said he expects my soft modern furniture designs to really resonate with Décor House’s design-conscious customers.

I’m honored by his confidence and thrilled to have a new venue for everyone to see my work, particularly in such a fabulous store. Whether you’re in the business or just love great South Florida interior design, Décor House is well worth a visit. Find it at 4119 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Coral Gables, FL 33146, 305-448-6200.

Allison Introduces New Art Line at her 12th Appearance at High Point Furniture Market

Palm Beach interior designer, interior designer in Palm Beach, FL

High Point, NC, October 2014 – Internationally celebrated Palm Beach interior designer, Allison Paladino, will be making her 12th appearance at the Fall 2014 Furniture Market, showcasing her up-and-coming furniture line for EJ Victor, along with her collection of hand-tufted rugs for New River Artisans. Allison is ecstatic to announce she will also be launching her new and very much anticipated art collection with Wendover Art Group, which will consist of over 60 pieces at the Fall Market.

This market, Allison is excited to partner with Wendover Art Group. Her new art line consists of over 60 pieces with a wide range of photography and graphic art. The graphic art can be customized in color combinations as well as mats and frames. Her inspirations come from her travels around the globe, antique furniture, textiles, and porcelain. Her photography was inspired by her recent trip featuring fabulous graphic Tulips from Holland and architectural escutcheons from Germany and her homeland of Hungary. Allison will also be available for a personal tour of her new and personally inspired art collection from 10 to 3 Saturday, October 18th, at the Wendover Art Group showroom located at IHFC C215. A private launch party will also be held on Monday, October 20th, at 2 pm to introduce her art collection to the press, clients, and distributors at 1 pm. Select pieces will also be shown in the EJ Victor Showroom.

Allison continues to bring a transitional touch to the EJ Victor showroom with pieces that boast a hint of exotic and modern elegance. In her 12th appearance at the High Point Market, the Palm Beach interior designer will guide her guests on an exotic adventure as she presents a few of her all-time favorite pieces and a sneak peek at her newest addition, The Cohen Cocktail Table and the Billy 2.

The Cohen has powerful 3-inch thick walnut supports that cradle the ¾ inch polished glass top. Textured bricks in antique silver or gold leaf serve as spacers between the wood and glass and add dimension and sparkle. The second shelf is a rich chocolate shagreen that wraps around the edges. Billy 2 has the same waterfall style as the Billy but is now available in a glass top.

Her rug designs with New River Artisans, scattered throughout the showroom, are hand-tufted loop and cut-pile construction made of New Zealand wool. The new pattern at Market is “Rice Paddies”.

The North Carolina-based Company, New River Artisans, offers a host of color options in their rugs with greatly reduced lead times. New River is putting all of the custom rug companies overseas on notice. Where typical lead times average 5 to 6 months from overseas, and designers have to worry about things getting caught in customs, New River Artisans deliver strike-offs in one to two weeks, and completed area rugs in six to eight.

Stephanie Dining Table Named Best of Market!

South Florida luxury interior design

Wow! The May 9, 2012 issue of industry trade publication Furniture Today just hit the newsstands, and the Stephanie Dining Table was named to the publication’s bi-annual “Best of Market” section.

Introduced two weeks ago at the High Point Market—the world’s largest home furnishings trade show—the Stephanie Dining Table is among the newest additions to my luxury furniture collection at E.J. Victor. Offered in two different sizes (84 and 96 inches), I designed it without a leaf to simplify people’s lives. The oak table surface features an interesting checkerboard pattern, surrounded by a textural apron. The table’s legs are situated in horseshoe patterns above a pair of dramatic C-shaped stretchers (does it remind you of a certain fashion house logo?) and have been carefully positioned to ensure everyone around the table enjoys plenty of leg room.

The news this Market was a new, lighter finish called sand. While lighter finishes and oak are typically associated with more casual looks, the story here is about sophistication—perfect for South Florida luxury interior design projects. Until now, I’ve focused on beautifully rich, dark woods like crotch walnut, rosewood, and zebrawood in all of my designs for E.J. Victor. This season, I was inspired in part by the needs of my Palm Beach interior designer clients, many of whom are gravitating toward lighter finishes, and in part by the juxtaposition of light and dark.

In the background of the picture, you see my new Lorelei Cabinet, a terrific companion piece to Stephanie, with its creamy limestone top and alternating wave pattern door and drawer fronts. Lorelei is also decidedly smaller in scale and lower in height to leave enough room above it to accommodate a great mirror, wonderful painting, or TV in spaces with lower ceilings. This is a multi-purpose piece that could be used as a dresser, buffet, media cabinet, or bar. I love its undulating curves, which remind me of a wave—a detail many clients look for in Palm Beach Gardens interior design projects.

Both of these pieces, along with the accompanying Parker Dining Chairs, could only be produced by a company like E.J. Victor, which is steeped in the art and craft of high-end home furnishings. Achieving the wonderfully warm sand finish requires a complicated bleaching process that few other companies would even attempt today, and certainly none domestically. I am tremendously gratified that furniture like this can still be produced in the U.S., and to be working with the incredible craftspeople required to bring it to fruition at E.J. Victor, delighting clients of South Florida luxury interior design.
